Did you know that Ohio Worker’s Compensation still uses the fifth edition of The AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment? We have compared the outcomes on several clients using a side-by-side comparison of the fifth and sixth edition of “the Guides” in several cases. The results may surprise you! The sixth edition is more concise allowing for more inter-rater reliability, and often results in higher values of impairment than the fifth edition.

At CIME Ohio, we will use whatever version of the Guides that your jurisdiction requires. If, anytime, you would like to compare the two outcomes on any client, we can prepare a report for both the 5th and 6th edition evaluations. Your client always comes first with us!

And how can it help your lawfirm? CIME stands for Certied Independent Medical Examiner. All too often, exams that involve litigation are far from independent. It seems that over the last 26 years of practice, I have been involved with more dependent exams than independent exams. It “depends” on who is paying for the exam as to it’s outcome.

I belong to a fraternity of individuals committed to providing objective, impartial, and complete medical exams for the legal community. ABIME, the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners was founded to provide extensive training and a code of ethics that excel the expectations of the general medical community. This is beneficial to the legal community for it provides a pool of experts at your fingertips for evaluating the merits of a claim before it goes to arbitration or judgement.

ABIME experts are willing and able to defend their work at all times. The use of the 5th or 6th edition of The AMA Guide to Permanent Impairment provides a template for the evaluation and assessment of impairment for all situations that arise. The interpretation of how permanent impairment relates to disability can also be provided. I have had twenty-six years of experience determining disability in my practice. As a CIME, I can bring these years of experience to your client.

My individual focus is on the truth in the matter of impairment and disability. I will strive to achieve the maximum, defendable impairment analysis possible for your clients. I will go the “extra mile” to find all aspects of their individual impairments, leading ultimately, to the highest percentage disability possible.

After a lot of planning and work we’ve finally launch our new site. Located at both Cimeohio.com and cime.us this site will be dedicated to expanding your knowledge of the Certified Independent Medical Examiner profession and also be a central location for resources dedicated to the subject.

We wish to thank everyone involved in the development, and all the hard work that”s been put in in developing this new website. With that being said, we’d like your feedback!
